Suspected burglars arrested for casing homes in FriendswoodbyAug 21, 2012
FRIENDSWOOD, Texas -- Three Houston men were arrested and placed in jail for casing homes in Friendswood.
A resident in the 1000 block of Cowards Creek in Friendswood called police at around 10:13 a.m. on August 21. She noticed a suspicious vehicle pulled down her driveway and then a man go out, knocked on her door and asked for directions. The resident provided the police with a description of the suspects, a partial license plate and described the vehicle as a silver, four door sedan. About 40 minutes later, the same vehicle was seen driving through the Monte Bello subdivision.
The vehicle was stopped by an officer in the 200 block of S. Friendswood Drive. One of the suspects had an active warrant out for his arrest in Fort Bend County, and none of the suspects in the vehicle could give the officer a reason as to why they were at the Cowards Creek residence earlier.
Derwin Wayne Hadley, 19, of Houston; Deshaun Demarcus Jackson, 20, of Houston; and Calvin Lamont Landor, 23, of Houston, were taken into custody and their silver 2005 Buick was towed. A multi-pack of rubber tipped white cloth gloves and a spring-loaded nail set were collected from the Buick, suspected of being implements of theft and burglary.
Derwin Wayne Hadley is charged with Possession of a Criminal Instrument. His bond is set at $10,000. Hadley is the owner and driver of the vehicle.
Deshaun Demarcus Jackson is charged with Possession of a Criminal Instrument and had a warrant in Fort Bend County for Burglary of a Habitation. The warrant was issued on July 19. Prior to that, on March 27, Jackson was charged with Burglary of a Habitation. His bond is set at $35,000. Jackson also has prior arrests for drugs, traffic, resisting arrest and escape.
Calvin Lamont Landor is charged with Possession of a Criminal Instrument. His bond is set at $25,000. Landor was arrested for Burglary in Fort Bend County on August 8 and he has prior arrests for car theft, drugs, theft and evading arrest.
All three men were booked into the Friendswood City Jail and they are awaiting transfer to the Galveston County Jail.
