Clear Creek ISD Students Named as 2022 All-State Musicians

LEAGUE CITY, TX -- Band, choir and orchestra students across Clear Creek ISD’s five comprehensive high schools were selected to participate in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Ensembles. These 33 students were some of the highest-ranking musicians in the competition and qualified to perform in one of 18 Texas All-State ensembles in their respective categories.

“We are so proud to continually see our students achieve high levels of success and expand their musical talents across the state,” said CCISD Director of Visual and Performing Arts Greg Goodman. “The time each of them has dedicated to improve and perfect their skill and be named as an All-State member is an incredible accomplishment.”

Beginning each fall, more than 70,000 high school students across the state enter the TMEA All-State competitive process through the Region and then Area rounds. Only around 1,800 total students advance from Area to receive this honor.

The Creekside Intermediate brass choir was also selected to perform a musical showcase during the convention. They are the first band group in 10 years from CCISD and the first group from Creekside to perform.

“I am very proud of our students,” said Creekside Assistant Band Director Thomas Macias. “They worked for an entire year to put a recording together, and that recording was selected from groups across the state of Texas. This year, they have worked to put together a fun program, and I’m excited for them to perform at this prestigious event.”

All students will perform at the annual TMEA Clinic/Conference in February 2022 in San Antonio, TX. This is the largest music education conference of its kind in the world.
